Most people learn a new tool fastest from a colleague who has already worked it out. AI Champions are the people in your organisation who have put their hand up to help colleagues with AI in their own work. The Champions page, under People, is where you record who they are, how much time they're giving, and what they cover, and where you find the brief to send them.
Adding a championLink to this section
- Go to People → Champions and choose Add a champion.
- Under Who, choose the person: anyone shown as Active on All people who isn't already a champion.
- Set Hours a week: the time agreed with them, in whole hours.
- Choose the Groups and Tools they cover, and add a Note if it helps.
- Choose Add champion.
A new champion starts as Proposed. Choose Activate once they've agreed, and Retire when they step back; Edit changes their hours, groups, tools and note.
Keeping the load fairLink to this section
A champion's row shows Over the cap when their hours go past 4 a week. It's a warning, not a limit: the hours still save. A champion quietly giving much more than a few hours a week is easy to lose, so it's worth a conversation, or another champion to share the load.
The briefLink to this section
The brief, on the same page, is what to send each champion when they start: what they've said yes to, the commitment in their agreed hours, what to notice, and what isn't their job. Choose Copy the brief and send it in your own message.
It asks champions to pass on what they notice (what works, what doesn't, what people are unsure about and what would help) from the Ask to use something page, as something worth knowing, so it reaches you under Feedback. On Pro, where the Group Leaders' view of feedback is switched on, a champion's finds reach their own Group Leaders too, so ask champions to leave colleagues' names out of what they send.
Where champions appearLink to this section
- Reviews: champions are marked among the people you can ask to take part. See Running a review.
- The Roadmap: they're marked (AI Champion) when you choose an initiative's owner. See The AI Roadmap.
- Group Leaders, under People, sits beside Champions, with each Group Leader's team results.
A champion is a role you give a person, not a role in The GAiGE: what they can see and change still comes from their role (What each role can do).
