Release notes

What's new in The GAiGE.

The releases below are what we think are worth telling you about. We ship smaller improvements and fixes between these too. Versioning follows Major.Feature.Patch. Bigger numbers on the left mean bigger changes.

v1.4.0

June 29, 2026

Redesigned reports, a gauge for every pulse

The biggest reporting update yet. Each of the three core pulses now has a clear, distinct job, and every report leads with at-a-glance gauges tailored to what that pulse actually measures. Each pulse also has its own colour so you can tell them apart everywhere.

New features

  • Reports redesigned, and they now adapt to each pulse. Every report leads with gauges showing exactly what that pulse measures: ROI, hours saved and satisfaction for The AI Pulse; an NPS gauge plus value, trust and 'would you miss it?' for The AI Review; a confidence gauge for The AI Capability Check. No more empty dials for metrics a pulse doesn't track.
  • A new Breakdowns section on every report shows how people actually answered each question: the full distribution, not just a single average.

Improvements

  • The three core pulses now have three clearly distinct jobs. The AI Pulse: are people using a tool, and is it saving time (now with a quick 1-to-10 performance score). The AI Review: is the tool worth it (the value it delivers, how much you trust its output, and how likely people are to recommend it). The AI Capability Check: are your people confident and growing with it.
  • Every pulse now has its own colour, used consistently across your dashboard, your reports and the browser extension, so you can tell at a glance which pulse you're looking at.

v1.3.4

June 18, 2026

Microsoft Edge, schedule control, and guided setup

The GAiGE browser extension is now on Microsoft Edge as well as Chrome, you can set how often each core pulse fires, and a new guided setup walks you through getting your organisation up and running.

New features

  • The GAiGE extension is now available on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store, not just Chrome. Same extension, now installable for your Edge users.
  • You can now set how often each core pulse fires. Core-pulse schedules used to be fixed; admins can adjust the cadence of each one to suit how your team works.

Improvements

  • A new guided setup walks you through connecting your AI tools, adding your team and turning on pulses, for a clearer path to your first results.

v1.2.0

June 2, 2026

Polish + intro video refresh

Follow-up patch on 1.1.0. Refreshed homepage intro video, tightened the demo-org experience for logged-in observers, and fixed a stale piece of onboarding copy that still referenced the old default plan.

Improvements

  • Homepage intro video refreshed to the 2026 cut. Same player, new content.
  • The three demo-mode surfaces (top banner, welcome modal, 'how this works' modal) rebuilt to match the rest of the editorial design and simplified to one-path-only — the 'Start your own trial' CTA from the older signup-light demo flow is gone, replaced everywhere by 'Return to {your org}'.

Fixes

  • The Chrome-extension install nudge no longer appears in the demo organisation. The demo is supposed to read as fully set up; that banner was undercutting it.
  • Onboarding 'what plan am I on?' copy no longer hard-codes 'Lite'. New copy is plan-agnostic (true whether you started on Lite, Standard or Pro) and reinforces that switching is free during the trial.
  • Signed-in users in demo mode can now navigate the full admin nav (Dashboard, AI Tools, Users, Groups, Pulses, Reports, Settings) read-only. Previously only Reports worked; every other tab bounced back to Dashboard.

v1.1.0

June 1, 2026

AI Impact Measurement, sharpened

Editorial design refresh across the site and the app, a public sample report you can share before signing up, downloadable PDF reports, a cleaner sign-up flow, and sharpened positioning around independent, cross-vendor measurement.

New features

  • Public sample report at /sample-report. The exact Reports surface a paid customer sees, running against a demo organisation's data. No signup, shareable directly with your buying committee.
  • Switch into the demo organisation from inside your account. New 'View the demo' item in the sidebar (just below Settings) lets you flip into a populated demo org any time. Same item swaps to 'Return to [your org]' when you're already in it. A gentle prompt on Dashboard and Reports also surfaces this while your real data is still landing, then disappears.
  • Downloadable PDF reports. Async generation with progress bar, server-side rendered against your live filters, lands in your downloads automatically when ready.
  • Blog now has category filter chips at the top: Founder Essays, Field Guides, Methodology, Product Updates. Sticky-post mechanic removed, everything sorts by date.
  • Three new long-form articles: 'Why AI vendor impact surveys can't replace independent measurement' (the strategic argument), 'How to compare AI tools like-for-like' (a CFO framework with worked examples), and the inaugural Product Updates post.

Improvements

  • Full editorial design refresh across the marketing site and the dashboard. Cream surface, serif headlines, crimson hairlines. Dense data UI (gauges, reports, tables) stays sans-serif because that's where the work happens.
  • Cleaner sign-up and onboarding flow. Single-column layout, serif headline, Google and Microsoft SSO, and the trial reassurance ('14 days free, no card, cancel any time') front and centre.
  • Sharpened positioning across the site: Independent, Cross-vendor, Outcome-led. Reflects the reality that vendors are now shipping their own impact surveys; we're the independent measurement layer that compares them all apples-to-apples.
  • Free trials now start on Standard (was Lite). Standard exposes the full measurement story across all three core pulses, which is closer to what most evaluating orgs actually want to try. You can still switch down to Lite mid-trial without paying anything.
  • Pricing page: plan cards now align vertically across Lite, Standard and Pro (the Lite card used to sit higher). The Compare All Features table uses sharp crimson checkmarks and a muted X instead of nearly-invisible hairlines.
  • Deploys now cache the app shell correctly. Browsers stop holding stale HTML between releases, so design and copy updates appear immediately on next visit.

Fixes

  • Gauges scale correctly on narrow viewports. On mobile, when the 4-up gauge strip used to overflow and overlap, it now shrinks proportionally.
  • Signed-out users clicking 'Go to Dashboard' from the marketing site now land on the sign-in page (with their intended destination preserved). Previously this hit a 404.
  • Marketing CTAs reliably reflect signed-in vs. signed-out state. Replaced a brittle Clerk cookie sniff with our own session marker that flips on the actual auth state, so signed-out users never see 'Go to Dashboard' by mistake.
